Vehicle handover is generally possible from Monday to Friday, 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. (Saturdays on request at some rental locations) and vehicle returns from 8 a.m. to 10.30 a.m. The employees at the respective location will arrange the handover and return times with you.

You can either book a camper yourself using the booking tool or contact your nearest camper rental location. As soon as we have received your enquiry, a person from the relevant location will contact you personally with the offer/rental agreement and arrange a time for the handover with you.

The rental camper vans are generally designed for four people (sleeps four). The models are marked with the maximum number of people. 

We love four-legged friends too! You are also welcome to take your pet with you on your camper rental holiday. In this case, our special rental camper vans for pets (only vehicles that have chosen a pet flat rate as an option) are available. They are cleaned after the rental with special cleaning agents.

Anyone aged 18 and over with a valid driving licence can rent a camper van from us. 

Our minimum rental period is at least three nights in the off-season, so weekend rental is also possible from Friday to Monday. During the peak season, from 1 July to 31 August, the minimum rental period is six nights. 

For longer rentals of 14 nights or more, you will receive a discount of 10 percent on the entire rental period. Cannot be combined with the early booking discount.

The rent is due on commencement of the rental period at the latest. The payment terms will be sent to you by the rental location so that you can make the payment conveniently from home. Any down payments are agreed between the customer and the renting company.

Unlimited rental kilometres are included in the rental. This allows you to plan longer routes at no additional cost.

A second person at the wheel is included in our daily rental rates. This allows you to take turns driving and relaxing.

In consultation with the rental office, you are welcome to park your vehicle in one of our customer parking spaces. 

As soon as the reservation request has been received and the vehicle is available at the desired time, you will receive written confirmation with the rental conditions and the rental contract.

Camper van instruction generally takes between 30 and 60 minutes. To help you prepare for this in advance, you can watch the relevant instructional videos under the Tips section.

No deposit is required when renting a camper van at AMAG businesses. Any additional costs such as deductibles or damage are billed separately. This means you don’t have to worry about whether the deposit is transferred back after the rental has been completed.

• Cancellation 14 days before start of rental: free of charge
• Cancellation 13 to 2 days before start of rental: 50% retained by the rental company
• Cancellation less than two days before the start of the rental period: 100% retained by the rental company

If the vehicle is available after the booked rental period, you can book an extension in consultation with the rental location. 

As the vehicles are registered at the relevant rental locations, the vehicles must be returned to the same location.

There is an absolute ban on smoking in all rental vehicles. Disregarding this prohibition will be charged to the person responsible to cover the cost of cleaning by AMAG.

You must rinse the waste-water tank with clean water after emptying the grey water (prevents deposits). The fresh- and waste-water tanks must be emptied completely. If the water tanks are not cleaned or emptied, the rental company will charge a flat-rate fee of CHF 150.

Yes, the vehicle is delivered with a full tank of petrol and must be returned by the customer with a full tank after the rental.

In principle, camper van rental vehicles may be driven in any country, such as Switzerland, the Principality of Liechtenstein, all European countries and the Mediterranean peripheral and island states, and are also insured in these countries. In the case of transport by sea, the insurance cover is not interrupted if the place of departure and destination are within the geographical scope.

The insurance provisions do not apply in the following countries (thus there is no insurance cover and driving in these countries with AMAG camper rental vehicles is prohibited): Egypt, Algeria, Armenia, Azerbaijan, Georgia, Kazakhstan, Lebanon, Libya, Republic of Moldova, Russia, Syria, Ukraine and Belarus. 

The insurance for rental camper vans is not valid if you are not registered at a residential address/domicile in Switzerland. This means that people without a domicile/residence in Switzerland are not allowed to rent AMAG camper vans.

In the event of an accident, theft (burglary/misappropriation, etc.), loss, fire, damage caused by wild animals or other damage, you must notify the police immediately and have a police report drawn up.

This also applies to accidents caused by yourself and not involving third parties. You are not permitted to accept opposing claims. In any case, you must inform the Totalmobil helpline immediately. Your contact within Switzerland: +41 848 024 365/from abroad: +41 44 846 14 14. You must also inform the garage immediately. In all of the aforementioned events, you must immediately compile a comprehensive written report, including sketches, even if the damage is minor. In the case of accidents, the report must include in particular the names and addresses of all persons and potential witnesses, as well as the registration numbers of the vehicles involved. In the event of theft, any remaining available vehicle keys, a report on how the theft occurred and the police report must be submitted to the garage within 24 hours.

All AMAG camper van rental vehicles can be driven with a category B driving licence. 

We only use the latest and current vehicle models from VW Commercial Vehicles. This means that the latest technology and equipment are always included in the rental. The vehicles are also always maintained by our in-house specialist workshops, so that you can enjoy a relaxing camping holiday.

Our rental vehicles are marked with the most important dimensions and features. You can find these in the rental tool for the relevant vehicle under description and equipment. All the information about the rental vehicle in question is listed there.

Vehicles generally have a trailer hitch. The exact equipment is listed in the rental tool for the relevant vehicle under description. You can also contact our rental office directly. 

Most vehicles are equipped with a trailer hitch. We use the Thule Velospace XT3 for three bicycles (or two e-bikes). After consultation and depending on availability, you can request an extension kit for the fourth bicycle from the rental location. If the vehicle does not have a trailer hitch, we offer a tailgate bicycle rack for four bicycles for the same price (except for the VW Grand California, where special bicycle racks are required).

Most vehicles are equipped with an automatic DSG transmission. You can identify the corresponding transmission when you select a model.

All vehicles are equipped with Isofix anchorages by the manufacturer Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles. Just bring your child seats with you, fit them into our rental camper vans and you can set off with your kids.
