The plug-in hybrid combines an electric motor with a TSI petrol engine: this means that the five-seater can drive a large part of everyday journeys entirely electrically – with a maximum purely electric range of over 100 km*. The plug-in hybrid automatically switches to the petrol engine for longer range without stopping charging. The new DC fast charging function enables the battery to be recharged to a large extent in a short time under optimal conditions. The new Tayron eHybrid is currently available in the Life and R-Line design and equipment lines.
The Golf ‘Life’ and ‘Style’ are also available as a plug-in hybrid. This is a plug-in hybrid with an electric and TSI petrol engine. When the battery is charged, the Golf eHybrid starts in locally CO2-free e-mode, in which only the electric motor runs. It covers distances of up to 134 kilometres (combined)* – measured using the WLTP method – purely electrically. Depending on the speed, driving profile and other parameters, the TSI engine automatically switches on.

Electrifying prospects: From daily errands to spontaneous long-distance journeys, the Tiguan eHybrid will take you to your destination – and back again. Thanks to the latest generation TSI petrol engine and the additional powerful electric motor, the combined system performance is available in two versions. Both variants feature quick charging and an electric range of up to 100 km*.
When the battery is sufficiently charged, the Touareg R always starts in purely electric ‘E-mode’. If the driver wants more power and speeds over 140 km, the V6 TSI automatically switches on. In ‘Hybrid’ mode, this works exactly the other way round: if necessary, the driver can also use the full electric power as a boost via a kickdown.
